A 2004 Cal graduate with a four-year pro career, Anna Temple took the UC Davis Aggies to three consecutive Big West championships in 2013, 2014 and 2015, earning Coach of the Year honors all three years.
Most recently an Associate Head Coach for Washington, she worked alongside Mary Lou Mulflur for three years, taking the helm after the longtime coach’s retirement in 2025.
What drew you to Washington?
I’ve had a healthy respect for Washington since I was young. My college coach played for Mary Lou and my dad had an office here in Seattle.
When ML asked if I would come up and work with her, it ended up being one of the greatest things to happen to me.
I fell in love with this University and the Women’s Golf program because of the intentional culture that has been built here, the quality of the people, and the pursuit of excellence for our student-athletes both on and off the course.
You made some great Husky connections while you were at Cal.
The late Nancy McDaniel — one of the greatest Washington golfers in history and a member of the WGCA Coaches Hall of Fame — coached me at Cal.
She nurtured my passion for coaching when I served as her assistant, a job that led me to my first head coaching position at UC Davis. Thank you, Washington!
What is the most important thing for Tyee Club members to know about you?
I am extremely focused on and passionate about developing young women. They come here to play a sport they love, and along the way, they learn so many life lessons.
It’s important for me to empower young women to be their own best coach, to teach them to do things for themselves in a collaborative environment.
What role do your fans and donors play in your team’s success?
A massive one! We can’t do anything we do without your financial support. And we have such great alumni, donors and fans. They have become our families when our players are away from home.
The relationships we build last a lifetime, and we love getting them involved with the team.
