Becky Newbry
- Four-year letterwinner from Olympia, Wash.
- The UW softball program’s first three-time All-American and one of the most versatile players in Husky history, having started at every position other than pitcher.
- Originally a walk-on, earned first-team All-America in 1999, as well as second-team in 1997 and third-third in 1996. Also a two-time All-Pacific Region first-team honoree, and four-time All-Pac-10 selection (two times on the first team, another on the second and once honorable mention).
- Part of the Huskies’ 1996 Pac-10 Championship team, and played in the Women’s College World Series all four years, finishing as national runner-up twice, and third twice.
- Still ranks among the top-10 in Husky history in eight different career categories: second in triples (16); fourth in games (266); fifth in hits (286); seventh in steals (81); eighth in runs (181) and batting average (.368); ninth in doubles (50); and 10th in hit by pitch (19).
- Also ranks among the top-10 on the UW charts in several key single-season categories: third in hits (92 in 1999); fifth in batting average (.436 in 1999); and fifth in triples (5, in both 1996 and 1999).
- 1999 Tom Hansen Pac-10 Conference Medal (given to the top male and female student athlete from each conference school), and 1999 Seattle Post-Intelligencer Sports Star of the Year.
