As we approach the end of our academic year and second year in the Big Ten, we celebrate the phenomenal success of our teams and student-athletes. Highlights from this past fall and winter include:
- Men’s Soccer winning their first NCAA National Championship in program history.
- Women’s Soccer capturing Big Ten regular season and tournament titles and advancing to the Elite Eight — while honoring teammate Mia Hamant.
- Men’s Tennis player Soham Purohit becoming the first Husky in 20 years to win the ITA Northwest Regional Championship individual crown.
- Pole vaulter Hana Moll winning her third national title, becoming the winningest woman in UW Track & Field history.
- All 22 teams posting a 3.30 GPA or above this fall, with our student-athletes setting a new department GPA of 3.52.
These record-breaking achievements are only possible because of your support.
Thanks to the generosity of Tyee members like you, Husky Athletics can continue to adapt and expand our support services to better meet the needs of our student-athletes.
Donor-funded academic support has helped our teams thrive in the classroom, even as travel demands have increased. Our Men’s Soccer National Champions posted a 3.48 team GPA with 22 student-athletes earning Big Ten Fall All-Academic honors, despite missing 27 class days in fall quarter due to travel.
As revenue share and influencer marketing through Dawgs Unleashed create new possibilities, our student-athletes are also navigating increased responsibility and complexity. Your support helps us create new Boundless Futures programming, such as the life-changing financial education detailed on page 8, that helps them succeed in all aspects of their lives.
Thank you for fueling the next generation of leaders, scholars, and champions. We appreciate your continued support and commitment.
Go Dawgs!
Pat Chun
UW Director of Athletics
